The first loom
It started with a kilim, not a rug. In a Central Anatolian workshop, one loom turned local wool into flatwoven kilims: no knots, pattern built by the weft alone. That same construction, flat and pileless, is what our washable line still uses today, on a machine instead of a hand-worked loom. The patterns from those years still sit in our archive drawers.
The workshop becomes a mill
The second generation added machines without letting go of the handwork. Edges bound in-house, wool chosen by touch, and a rule that survives to this day: nothing ships that we would not lay in our own living room.
Precision joins patience
Power looms brought crisp, even pile and patterns that stay sharp for decades. The third generation built the mill floor we still work on, and the quiet discipline that runs it.
Us: the impatient ones
We grew up under the looms and asked an annoying question: why does everyone treat beautiful rugs like museum pieces? So we developed our cotton-based washable line: a real woven rug that goes straight into a household machine and comes out new. Then we opened the mill doors to the world.
Anatolia to Istanbul
Central Anatolia is not a backdrop. It is where the first kilim was woven and where the family learned the trade. Istanbul is where that trade became a mill. Everything on our floor starts in that line and ends up in a room we will never see.
Where the patterns come from
Almost nothing on our floor is drawn from scratch. The archive drawers hold graph-paper cartoons from the first workshop, dye records in three handwritings, and sample strips cut from rugs that left the mill before any of us were born.
A pattern earns a place in the catalogue by surviving that archive: it has to still look right when the wool is gone and the same motif is woven in cotton, at a size the first weaver never made, in a room he never saw. Some do not survive it. Those stay in the drawer.
It is also why every pattern carries a code next to its name. The name is for your room; the code points to a drawer.
Three lines from one mill
One mill, three ways of making. They are not tiers, and none of them is the cheap one. Washable ships today; power-loomed and hand-woven are on their way.
Washable
A cotton-based weave bonded to a woven non-slip backing. One piece, no cover to unzip, no pad to peel apart.

Power-loomed
Dense, even pile from the looms our third generation installed. Patterns hold their edges for decades.

Tied by hand, one of each. Small irregularities are the record of the hand that made it.

Every pattern can be cut to your own measurement, and a custom cut comes back to us on the same terms as a listed size. We cut it for you and we still take it back.

The long version
It started as a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. It is finished today on a machine loom in Istanbul. But none of that was ever the destination. Your hallway is. Your stairs, your dog’s water bowl, the light that hits your floor at four in the afternoon. It flies out by FedEx or UPS and gets there in two to four business days.
