Our Story

Our story

Four generations.
One stubborn idea.

A real rug should survive real life. That sentence has kept our family at the loom for four generations.

I

The first loom

It started in a small Anatolian workshop: one loom, local wool, and a weaver who believed a rug should outlive the person who bought it. The patterns from those years still show up in our archive drawers.

II

The workshop becomes a mill

The second generation added machines without letting go of the handwork. Edges bound in-house, wool chosen by touch, and a rule that survives to this day: nothing ships that we would not lay in our own living room.

III

Precision joins patience

Power looms brought crisp, even pile and patterns that stay sharp for decades. The third generation built the mill floor we still work on, and the quiet discipline that runs it.

IV

Us: the impatient ones

We grew up under the looms and asked an annoying question: why does everyone treat beautiful rugs like museum pieces? So we developed our cotton-based washable line: a real woven rug that goes straight into a household machine and comes out new. Then we opened the mill doors to the world.

What we make today

Three lines leave our floor. Cotton-based washables for rooms where life actually happens. Power-loomed classics with dense, even pile for rooms that want weight and calm. And hand-woven originals: one of each, tied by hand, never repeated.

Different constructions, one standard: our looms, our hands, honest prices, shipped worldwide with 30-day free returns, custom-cut included.

Home is two places now. The looms and the studio live in Istanbul; our US hub in Cheyenne, Wyoming keeps deliveries fast and returns easy on the other side of the ocean.

The ember in Rugember

An ember is what stays lit long after the fire dies down. Four generations kept ours going. We made it something you can live on: rugs you can spill on, wash, and put straight back down.
