Description

Pattern

Rustic Heriz is a brick-red washable rug with a medallion at its center and rosettes in the corners.

A stepped medallion sits in the middle, dark at the core and ringed with small flower heads. The red field around it is packed with tiny stylised plants, and slate-blue corner panels close it off. Four round rosettes sit in the inner corners like seals.

Slate blue is the reason this works. Without it the red would be relentless; with it the field has somewhere to breathe.

Color

Brick red and rust in the field, slate blue in the corners, cream and brown through the borders.

Walnut & Cognac Leather & Brass

Rust takes walnut, cognac leather and aged brass, tones as saturated as this rug's red.

Matte Black & Cream & Linen

Black metal for a hard edge: matte black cuts through cream on this warm rug.

Brushed Steel & Cream & Linen

Brushed steel brings one cool break to this warm rug, resting on cream and linen.

  • Slate blue is already inside it; one cushion is enough
  • Cream walls keep the red warm rather than heavy
  • Not a red sofa. One red object per room

On dark wood the reds deepen toward oxblood. On pale oak the whole rug lifts and the blue corners come forward.

Where it works

  • Living rooms, dining rooms, hallways
  • Flat weave: lies flat, layers over jute or wool
  • 5 mm: clears a door, sits over underfloor heating
  • 70% cotton to breathe, 30% polyester to hold the weave through a wash
  • Non-slip backing woven in, not glued on
  • Enough body that the corners stay down
  • 34 sizes and four shapes, cut to order

Why Rugember®

We are not a brand that buys rugs.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.

In numbers

4Generations

The backing is part of the rug.

Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.

Cut to your measurement.

Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.

Woven, then finished by hand.

The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.

Low pile, by decision.

A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.

The long version Four generations, one Istanbul mill, a rug to remember.
