The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Sahel Bands Tangerine runs bright tangerine stripes between taupe bands drawn over in cream.
Between the stripes, three kinds of band take turns: loose cream lines that pinch together and open out like wood grain, stepped lines that turn corners like a staircase with short comb strokes hanging from the top, and a narrow band of a few plain lines. Pairs of upright posts cut each band into long panels. The orange stripes swing from thick to thin and are laid in lengths that meet with a small step, and no line anywhere is ruled. There is no border; the bands run straight off both sides.
Up close a fine linen grain and paler patches where the orange lengths meet make it look stamped and painted by hand; from across the room it reads as a bold stripe.
Tangerine and warm taupe, with every line drawn in cream.
Tangerine takes walnut, cane and tan leather, warm materials that sit easily with the stripes.
Linen and chalk white calm the orange, with pale oak to pick up the taupe bands.
Denim or deep green gives one cool note, with white paint to keep it fresh.
On pale oak the tangerine stripes stand out sharply and the taupe bands sit back. On dark wood the cream drawing lifts and the whole rug reads lighter than the floor.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
