The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Courtyard Tile Aqua is the coolest of the cream tile floors, drawn in slate with aqua and turquoise.
Thin aqua lines outline octagonal tiles and the small squares set between them. Round star rosettes ringed with slate buds, lacy lavender gray medallions and sprays of stems and blossoms fill the octagons, and the squares carry four-petal flowers with curled tendrils or pairs of mirrored brackets. A few rosettes open into pointed turquoise petals. A band of fine slate dashes, close-set like ruler marks, runs around the edge.
Parts of the drawing have worn away and a few rosettes break up into scattered fragments, so the aqua looks faded by sun and water rather than bright and new.
Cream with a cool cast, slate and lavender gray in the drawing, aqua lines and turquoise petals.

White paint and linen keep it fresh, with undyed cotton for a soft, easy room.
Terracotta or clay warms the cool aqua, with cream to bridge the two.
On pale floors the aqua and slate stand out crisply against the cream. On dark wood the rug becomes the brightest thing in the room and the cream ground does most of the work.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
