The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Courtyard Tile Ochre is a cream washable rug laid out like an old tile floor, drawn in slate with ochre in the flowers.
Octagonal tiles alternate with small square ones, all outlined in thin taupe lines. The octagons hold round star rosettes ringed with dark slate buds, lacy medallions in lavender gray, and sprays of stems and small blossoms fanning out from a center. The squares carry a four-petal flower with curled tendrils or a pair of mirrored brackets, and a few rosettes open into a ring of pointed ochre petals. A band of fine slate dashes, set close like the marks on a ruler, runs around the edge and turns each corner in a nested double line.
Parts of the drawing have worn away, leaving some tiles almost bare and some rosettes broken into scattered fragments, so from across the room it reads as a sun-faded floor and up close each tile is worn in its own place.
Cream and oatmeal ground, slate and lavender gray in the drawing, with taupe tile lines and ochre petals.
Ochre and slate take oak, brass and cane, warm natural materials for a cream rug.
Linen and chalk white keep it light, with undyed cotton for a soft, quiet room.
Denim and walnut pick up the slate drawing, with cream walls to keep it warm.
On pale oak the cream ground blends into the floor and the slate drawing carries the grid. On dark wood the whole rug lifts and the ochre petals warm up.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
