The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Ember Medallion is a rust washable rug built around one big stepped diamond.
A Heriz medallion sits dead center, drawn in cream and charcoal over a burnt-orange field, its edges stepped rather than curved because the weave counts in squares. Olive corner pieces close the field, and a sage border carries a row of palmettes all the way round.
The orange is not even. It runs lighter through the middle of the field and deeper at the corners, the way a dyed lot ages unevenly.
Burnt orange and rust in the field, olive and charcoal in the corners, sage and cream in the border.

Black metal for contrast: matte black lamps and frames on this rug.
Matte black stays this rug's hard edge, softened again by cream and linen.
On dark wood the rust deepens and the medallion reads sharper. On pale oak the whole rug lifts and looks distinctly orange.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
