Pattern
Harlequin Slate is the same diamond grid in charcoal and stone.
Charcoal and pale gray diamonds alternate across the whole field, each one carrying the slubbed texture of coarse jute. A narrow dark band closes the edge. There is no medallion and no center; the grid is the entire design.
The pale diamonds are not uniform. Some read almost white, others closer to putty, depending on how the texture catches the light.

The backing is part of the rug.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Cut to your measurement.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
Woven, then finished by hand.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
Low pile, by decision.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
