The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Sahara Check is a camel washable rug with a checkerboard running round the edge.
The field is left plain, woven to look like jute: coarse, slubbed, full of visible thread. All the drawing sits in the border, a single row of cream and tan squares that turns the corner without breaking rhythm.
The squares are not identical. Some are half a shade darker, some sit a fraction low, which is what keeps the border from reading as printed tape.
Camel and tan in the field, cream in the checks.
Camel takes rattan, oak and undyed cotton, warm wood tones close to this rug.
Cream checks pick up white paint, linen and matte black, echoing this rug's low contrast.
Matte black, white paint and linen keep this warm rug's checks from feeling busy.
On pale oak the rug almost matches the floor and the border does all the work. On dark wood the camel warms up and reads golden.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
