The woven nature of a real rug allows a minor size variation of ±5%.
Painted Gingham Straw is the softest of the gingham colors, straw yellow on oatmeal with every line drawn freehand.
Straw bands cross the field in both directions, grayed where they run alone and turning a warmer gold where they overlap. The squares between them are oatmeal rather than gray, so the contrast stays low and the check reads almost tonal. A plain straw border carries two thin pale lines, and the outer row of squares is clipped to slivers where it meets them.
The same fine diagonal grain runs through it, and with so little contrast the rug reads as woven texture from a distance and only shows its check up close.
Straw, oatmeal and a soft khaki gray, with a clearer straw yellow in the border.
Straw takes walnut, cognac leather and brass, warm tones that deepen its gold.
Linen and cream keep it calm, with pale oak floors and very little else.
Deep green or denim gives some contrast, with white paint to keep the room light.
On pale oak the rug sits close to the floor color and the check goes soft. On dark wood the oatmeal squares lift and the gingham reads clearly.

Four generations, one throughline: it started with a kilim, hand-woven in Central Anatolia. Today every Rugember is woven on our own machines in Istanbul, cut to the size you choose, and finished by hand.
Not a pad you lay underneath, and not a cover you clip on. The non-slip backing is bonded to the weave itself, so there is nothing to slip, peel or replace.
Every pattern, four shapes, thirty-four stock sizes. If none of them is your room, we cut the same weave to the measurement you give us.
The loom does the weaving. The edges, the binding and the final check are done by a person. That is also why a small tolerance in size is normal rather than a fault.
A low, dense weave is what lets a rug go into a drum and come out lying flat again. It is a construction choice, not a style one.
